The LEAGUE of Amazing Programmers gives kids the advantage they need to prepare for science and technology careers of the 21st century. We are a non-profit school dedicated to unlocking the mysteries of coding for kids in grades 5 through 12. We teach league members in a fun and engaging manner as we make programming a lively process of discovery.

Why The LEAGUE is so unique

To date we have taught more 400 San Diego County league members, many of whom have gone on to pursue advanced college degrees. We teach league members professional grade programming skills that encourage critical thinking. Here is how we differ:

  • We teach to excite and thereby ignite young minds. To support this mission we code in enjoyable fields such as video games, social media, mobile device apps and robot automation.
  • We teach in-person in engaging workshops and small teams. This ensures that league members get the personalized attention they need to optimize their learning.
  • Our curriculum uses a flexible recipe- and level-driven approach that inspires rapid achievement.
  • The LEAGUE relies directly on software professional volunteers to provide expert in-class student mentoring.
  • On reaching the upper levels our LEAGUE members are actually certified to work in professional programming fields!
  • We are passionate about what we do and it shows in the results.

If you like to have fun, make friends and think hard at the same time: you belong! Our league wants to give everyone the gift of programming, the superpower of the 21st century.

Programming is challenging… yet we make it fun and playful. Coding seems mysterious… but we enjoy unlocking mysteries together. We code in amazing areas such as video games, social media, mobile device apps and robot automation. To amaze yourself, join now.

Come One, Come All

The LEAGUE aims for an equal balance of boys and girls at the school, consistent with the National Science Foundation’s goal for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. You don’t have to think of pursuing a STEM career to enjoy the LEAGUE. You simply have to enjoy thinking. We’ll help develop your critical thinking skills to benefit all that you do in your future.

Parents, Teachers and Administrators: Opportunity comes first, Finances second

Amazing truly awaits everyone. For those in financial need, we aim for a 50% scholarship rate to open our doors to the full range of students who can benefit from our program. We are building a community of supporters so that we can reach out to every kid ready to think hard. If you want to help your child or someone in need, let’s work together to make it happen.

In addition to teaching at LEAGUE Central, we reach out to teach classes where kids in need want to change their lives forever. Put your thinking caps on, join the community and contact us to get started.

Our goal: every LEAGUE member will get the head start they need to excel in school and beyond!
We admit it, we’re plagiarizing:

“Coding is the closest thing we have to a Superpower”

Drew Houston, Creator of DropBox

We expect Drew won’t mind because he is so spot on. Software is an essential meta-skill for this age. It is what individuals and teams draw on to change the world in profound ways.

Think about it. These products and so many more have changed the world forever.

At The LEAGUE of Amazing Programmers, we want to give every student the programming savvy they need to change the world.

We are unique in our ability to transfer coding skills:

  • We code amazing video games, social media, mobile device apps and automated robots, all designed to ignite young minds to programming
  • We teach using professional grade software (e.g. Java, Android, etc.) so that we go beyond scratching the surface of this new power
  • Our recipe-driven curriculum inspires rapid achievement
  • We teach in-person so that league members get personalized attention to optimize their learning
  • We rely directly on software professional volunteers to provide expert in-class teaching
  • We are passionate about what we do and it shows in the results.

Programming is challenging… yet we make it fun and playful.
Coding seems mysterious… but we enjoy unlocking mysteries together.
