“Wilson Middle School teacher Khamphet Pease, 34, was recently named San Diego Unified’s 2014 Middle School District Teacher of the Year. The award honors Pease’s creativity and dedication in teaching science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

The Mira Mesa resident actually attended Wilson Middle when she was a student. And now, along with teaching algebra and computer classes, she also founded a popular robotics club at the City Heights school.

Pease, who moved to San Diego in 1985 as a Laotian refugee, tells us about her love of learning.”
