Carmel Valley club members win awards for programming at CodeDay

Del Mar Times, March 2015 "Twenty-two teams of eager young programmers (more than 120 kids) gathered recently at CyberHive San Diego, a shared workspace incubator that delivers business and technical support to early-stage cybersecurity and high-tech companies. They gathered for CodeDay, a nonstop 24-hour sleepless sprint to produce the best computer program as determined by a team of local, professional judges.

The League: giving kids the power to code June Clarke heads an after-school program that teaches programming

"The League of Amazing Programmers is a nonprofit after school program that teaches kids the skill of computer programming. Students from grades 5 to 12 go to the Carmel Valley-based campus and work with professional programmers on everything from creating games to making mobile phone apps. June Clarke, 36, is the lead teacher at The League. The former software engineer left her private consulting company to take on the role of an educator.
