Build your first video game using MakeCode Arcade! This after-school class introduces students in grades 3-8 to game development through Microsoft’s intuitive MakeCode Arcade platform. Students will design characters, add movement, create challenges, and watch their games come to life.

Course Overview

In this engaging class, students in grades 3 through 12 discover the thrill of making their very first video game! Working alongside experienced instructors, students learn game development fundamentals in a fun, beginner-friendly environment.

Each session, students will:

  • Design and customize their own game characters
  • Add movement and controls to bring characters to life
  • Create simple game challenges and obstacles
  • Deploy and share their finished games

This hands-on course sparks creativity, builds problem-solving skills, and gets kids excited about technology—all while having fun! No prior coding experience needed. All students leave with playable games they can share with friends and family.
