Robot Riot
Introduction to robotics programming and mechanical construction.
Course Overview
Robot Riot combines programming and robotics in an exciting competitive format. Students learn the basics of controlling motors on a robot, starting with existing robot platforms that they modify to make more competitive. Students add grippers, pushers, flippers, and other attachments to their robots, then learn how to reprogram them to activate electronics like turbos and lights. The course teaches how to send messages back and forth between the joystick controller and the robot, giving students hands-on experience with how robots respond to commands. This course is currently in development and represents an innovative approach to teaching robotics through competitive gameplay.

Enroll in Community Programs
The Robot Riot class is offered through Meetup.com, but may not be currently scheduled. Here is a schedule of all our Meetups.
Our community programs remove financial and geographic barriers to quality computer science education. Through partnerships with schools, libraries, and community centers across San Diego County, we provide free Tech Club workshops, scholarship opportunities, and outreach initiatives. We work directly with Title I schools, community organizations, and local libraries to bring experienced instructors and hands-on programming curriculum to students who might not otherwise have access to these opportunities. Many students who begin in our free community programs continue on to our paid weekly classes as they advance their skills.
