Long-time student Delara Aryan has been awarded the prestigious Stamps Scholarship. Before heading to the University of Southern California in the fall, she is spending her summer as a student intern teacher at The LEAGUE! We at the The LEAGUE are extremely proud of Delara, and wish her and all of our other students that are heading to college in the fall the best of luck.
Channel 7 news announces that San Diego City Council is declaring December 4, 2017 officially “The LEAGUE of Amazing Programmers Day”. The LEAGUE is recognized for its after-school program dedicated to teaching professional-level computer programming to a wide range of young San Diegans and for the achievement of teams competing in winning the 2017 D4SD challenge. Local reporter Jared Aarons visited the LEAGUE at the Malcolm X Library during the March 2017 workshop week. Concurrently, camps were also held at the Central Library branch and Gompers Prep. Almost 40 scholarship students were given the opportunity to take the workshop which was funded by grants and donations. Almost 1/2 of the attendees were girls! Watch this great story!
