"The League of Amazing Programmers is a nonprofit after school program that teaches kids the skill of computer programming. Students from grades 5 to 12 go to the Carmel Valley-based campus and work with professional programmers on everything from creating games to making mobile phone apps. June Clarke, 36, is the lead teacher at The League. The former software engineer left her private consulting company to take on the role of an educator.The San Diego Union-Tribune, May 2014 "Wilson Middle School teacher Khamphet Pease, 34, was recently named San Diego Unified’s 2014 Middle School District Teacher of the Year. The award honors Pease’s creativity and dedication in teaching science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Mira Mesa resident actually attended Wilson Middle when she was a student. And now, along with teaching algebra and computer classes, she also founded a popular robotics club at the City Heights school.
