Robot Garage Projects

Come build robots, microcontroller projects, and creative electronics in the Robot Garage. Bring your own project or pick one up when you arrive — we have everything you need to get building.

Course Overview

Robot Garage Projects is an open build day where students ages 10-18 can explore robotics, electronics, and fabrication in our fully equipped lab. The Robot Garage has a huge range of tools and materials: 3D printers, a lathe, machine tools, and a massive array of microcontrollers including Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, Micro:bits, and many others. We also have different kinds of robots, remote controls, programming modules, and plenty of Legos for prototyping.

Students can bring their own project — maybe a hack pack they bought, a school project, or something they dreamed up — and work on it with instructor support and access to all our tools and parts. Or, if you’re not sure where to start, the instructor will give you a project idea and get you going. There are opportunities to build moving robots, wire up microcontroller projects, learn soldering, experiment with sensors, and much more.

This is a relaxed, creative environment where students work at their own pace. It’s a great way to explore what interests you in robotics and electronics, and students who show strong aptitude may be invited to join our Robot Garage Apprentice program through League Labs.
